Fiordland National Park
Several scenes from one stop on the Milford road.

Several scenes from the lookout called Pops view. A nice panorama. The valley is much deeper than it appears in the photos. The Pops view lookout is on the Milford Road in Fiordland National Park.

Taken from one of the lookouts in Fiordland National Park.
Four image panorama in Fiordland near the Homer tunnel. The upper right image shows where the Homer tunnel is. The entrance can't be seen in the photo but it goes through the mountain to the right. The tunnel is toward the end of the Milford road as you approach Milford sound. The tunnel is more like a cave as only the road is surfaced. Above you in the tunnel is just the bare rock with water dripping down. Can't be well seen in the photos but there are water streams flowing down most of the rock faces in the photos. No sound in the photos either.

The view from Key Summit in Fiordland National Park. The hike isn't too tough really. Gorgeous views from up there but surprisingly chilly after sweating on the way up. The Milford road (not seen) meanders in the valley below. It's kind of late in the day, which explains the long shadows. Key summit is a short detour on the multi-day Routeburn track. One of New Zealand's finest.

This is Lake Marian. Incredibly gorgeous area. A bit of hiking to get to but well worth it. The mountains almost completely surround you. The smaller picture is more accurate as to the true colors of the scene.
Photo of Lake Marian and the surrounding mountains.
These photos form a panorama along the shores of Lake Te Anau. The town of Te Anau is the main gateway for Fiordland National Park.

These photos form a panorama along the shores of Mirror Lake in Fiordland National Park. The mountains are supposed to reflect in the lake. Too windy.

Four image panorama of Lake Marian. The mountains probably enclose about 270 degrees. Not all of it is shown with these four images. Just the lower valley you hike up from does not have surrounding mountains (not shown).

Photo of mountains taken in Fiordland. Thin water stream on right side is melting snow. When it rains, lots of these streams come out of the mountains.
